Brant is a manager of NASA's new prize competition program called Centennial Challenges. Brant worked at the White House Office of Management and Budget prior to coming to NASA, earned his master's degree in the Elliott School's Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program, and earned his bachelor's degree in astrophysics and the history of astronomy from Harvard University.

In this seminar, Brant will discuss the history of prize competitions, including the recent X PRIZE, the role of prize competitions as a tool for innovation, and NASA's planning for Centennial Challenges.
