NASA MSFC Native American Heritage celebration
What: NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., will host its annual Native American Heritage celebration Nov. 17 with authentic foods, song, dance and displays. Little Big Mountain, a member of the Comanche/Mohawk nation from Gainesville, Fla., and his dance troupe will perform. Visitors can sample fry bread and buffalo stew; watch demonstrations of friction-based campfire building and other primitive tools; and explore an authentic Native American lodge and teepee. Members of the Huntsville-area news media are invited to attend. Where: Marshall Space Flight Center, Building 4200 When: Displays and demonstrations, Building 4200 courtyard -- 10 a.m. CST to 1 p.m. Food samples, Building 4200 lobby -- 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To attend: News media interested in covering the event should contact the Marshall Public & Employee Communications Office at 256-544-0034 no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16. Media must report to the Redstone Arsenal Joint Visitor Control Center at Gate 9, Interstate 565 interchange at Rideout Road/Research Park Boulevard. Vehicles are subject to a security search at the gate. News media will need two photo identifications and proof of car insurance.
