This high profile public debate addressing the 2012 Urban Debate Resolution on space exploration and development will be held at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.
Four of the country’s top urban high school debaters will debate the future of the U.S. space program in The Great Space Debate. The eighty high school urban debaters who have qualified for the Urban Debate National Championship will attend this event with their teachers and coaches and the audience will include local Washington, D.C. public high school students and invited guests.
The event will be judged by a distinguished panel of judges and the students in attendance will vote their opinion on the winning team. In addition the panel of judges will be asked to speak to the debaters and the students assembled about their reasons for selecting the team designated as the winners of the debate.
