ARL/University of Texas Ionosonde - The University of Texas at Austin host this site for its ionosonde - a facility that transmits a pulse of radio and then calculates the length of time it takes for the wave to bounce off the ionospheric layers and return to the receiver, thereby determining the distance the wave travels. The ionospheric density and the required frequency relate directly.
