    Mission ISS-6A

    Mission Description:

6AThe primary objective of STS-100 is Space Station Assembly Flight 6A, the delivery and installation of the Canadian Robot Arm (Space Station Remote Manipulator System). The Italian-built Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) "Raffaello" module will be flown on this mission. The MPLM will carry 6 system racks and 2 storage racks which will be installed in the U.S. Lab module. In addition, a UHF antenna will be installed that will provide space-to-space communications capability for spacewalks conducted out of US-provided ISS modules or the Space Shuttle.
