NASA To Announce Mars Robotic Rover Names on Sunday

NASA will announce the names of the two Mars
Exploration Rovers, at a special event, Sunday, June 8 at
10:00 a.m. EDT at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Fla.,
Press Site auditorium.
NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe, LEGO Senior Vice President
Brad Justus, and the elementary school student who submitted
the rover's names, will participate in the event. The
winning names were selected from more than 10,000 student
entries in a contest managed for NASA by the LEGO Company.
The first of the two Mars Exploration Rovers, MER-A, is
scheduled for launch no earlier than Sunday, June 8 at
2:05:55 p.m. EDT.
