Senator Hutchison to Chair International Space Station Hearing First-ever hearing for new Subcommittee Chairman

WASHINGTON – TODAY, April 20 at 10 a.m., Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) will chair the Senate Commerce Committee's Science and Space Subcommittee hearing. This will be the first hearing of the subcommittee since Senator Hutchison was appointed Chairman.

The scheduled witnesses are:

Panel I

  • William Readdy, Associate Administrator, Space Operations Mission Directorate, National Aeronautics and Space Administration
  • Dr. Howard Ross, Deputy Chief Scientist, National Aeronautics and Space Administration
  • Lt. Colonel Michael Fincke, Astronaut, Chief Scientist, ISS Expedition 9, National Aeronautics and Space Administration

  Panel II

  • Dr. Jeffrey Sutton, Director, National Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI)
  • Dr. Mary Ellen Weber, Vice-President, University of Texas, Southwest Medical Center
  • Ms. Marcia Smith, Congressional Research Service
