The International Space Station crew will receive a new shipment of food, fuel and supplies Monday, June 26, and they will host a news conference at 8:54 a.m. EDT Tuesday, June 27. Both events will be broadcast live on NASA TV.
In their third month in space, Expedition 13 Commander Pavel Vinogradov and Flight Engineer Jeff Williams will monitor the Progress 22 resupply craft as it automatically docks to the station at approximately 12:30 p.m. EDT June 26. NASA TV docking coverage will begin at 11:30 a.m. EDT.
Vinogradov and Williams will discuss their flight during the news conference on Tuesday. Reporters at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla.; Johnson Space Center, Houston; and NASA Headquarters in Washington may ask questions. The crew will be in the final days of preparation for the arrival of the Space Shuttle Discovery. It is scheduled to launch July 1 on mission STS-121.
The Progress cargo craft, the twenty-second to visit the station, is set to launch June 24 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, carrying approximately 5,000 pounds of supplies. NASA will issue a status report confirming the cargo craft's launch. The launch will not be broadcast on NASA TV.
