Launch of Space Shuttle Endeavour with Canadian Space Agency Astronaut Marc Garneau on board

Saint-Hubert, November 9, 2000 * STS-97 is Canadian Space Agency (CSA) Astronaut Marc Garneau's third flight into space. His mission will consist in deploying solar panels that will power the International Space Station.

Mission STS-97 is scheduled for launch on November 30, 2000, at 10:05 pm EST, from the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. Canadian media planning to cover the launch from the KSC must request their accreditation through the CSA, before Wednesday, November 15.

The launch will also be broadcast live from CSA headquarters in Saint-Hubert, Quebec. Canadian media wishing to cover the launch from CSA must also be accredited through the CSA. On the evening of the launch, spokespeople and a CSA astronaut will be in Saint-Hubert to answer questions from media.

The Canadian Space Agency requires, from all media representatives who wish to cover this event, a printed request on official letterhead with the following information:

1. Covering from KSC: first and last name of the media representative, name of the media outlet, home address, date and place of birth, passport number with expiration date, work phone number and cellular phone number.

2. Covering from CSA: first and last name of the media representatives, name of the media outlet, home address, work phone number and cellular phone number.
