Saint-Hubert, December 5, 2000 - The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) invites media representatives to participate in the only press conference allowing them to interview Canadian Space Agency Astronaut Marc Garneau live from space. The event will take place on Friday, December 8, 2000 beginning at 4:25 p.m. (EST), at the CSA in Saint-Hubert.
Media representatives who wish to participate in this event must forward the following information to the CSA: name, phone number, name of the media they represent, as well as the question they plan to ask Marc Garneau. The latter information is to ensure that Dr Garneau is not asked the same question twice, as the duration of the question period is limited to only 8 minutes for participating Canadian media. Kindly send this information to Ms. Caroline Lavallée, at firstname.lastname@example.org, by Thursday, December 7 at 12:00 p.m. noon (EST), at the latest. All media submitting a request will receive an e-mail confirmation by Thursday, December 7 at 5:00 p.m.
Given the short duration of this press conference, only a limited number of Canadian media will have the opportunity to ask Marc Garneau a question. However, all media are invited to attend the event, whether at the CSA or via NASA TV by logging to the NASA TV satellite on GE-2, Transponder 9C at 85 degrees West longitude, vertical polarisation, with a frequency of 3,880 Mhz and audio of 6.8 Mhz.
