Saint-Hubert, May 29, 2001 - The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) invites media to its David Florida Laboratory in Ottawa on May 30, 2001 for the visit of Josť Maria Aznar, President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain accompanied by a delegation from the Spanish Space Agency, the Centre for Technical and Industrial Development.
The visit by the Spanish President and the space industry delegation is part of a mission to Canada to identify areas of co-operation between our respective space agencies (CDTI and CSA) and explore the potential for joint initiatives between our space industries.
During the visit to the David Florida Laboratory, Canada's ISO 9002 certified premier space qualification facility, the Spanish President in the company of Mac Evans, President of the Canadian Space Agency will offer a short presentation to guests before touring the laboratory. The media are invited to take part in the guided tour of the David Florida Laboratory. A separate contract signing ceremony between representatives of EMS Technologies of Ste-Anne-de Bellevue, Quebec, and Alcatel Espacio of Madrid will complete the media opportunity.
