Special Communication from the IFM Program Office

Our entire NASA family is mourning the tragic loss of Rita Mason and Peggy Williams, who lost their lives in a car accident this past weekend. Rita Mason and Peggy Williams were members of the IFMP Project team in Huntsville, Ala., and had been with us through the entire development cycle of our Integrated Asset Management (IAM) implementation procurement activity. Rita was our Contracting Officer responsible for the evaluation and award of the IAM implementation services contract and had been leading this effort since its inception a year ago. Rita is survived by her parents, her four sisters and two brothers.

Peggy had been providing direct administrative and management coordination support to our Project team. She had joined our team during the deployment of the Core Financial module and had been helping us ever since. Peggy was a single mother leaving behind two children, Brittany who is 18 and will be graduating from high school the end of this month, and Jabari who is 9.

All of us who have had the privilege of working with Rita and Peggy will miss their high level of professionalism, friendly exuberance, kindness and enthusiasm. In this time of tragedy and sorrow, we grieve deeply for their families, friends and close coworkers. This is a tragic loss for our entire NASA family and all who knew and loved Peggy and Rita. Please join us in extending our deepest condolences to their loved ones.
