3. 13S Discussion- S. LeCour/N. Gorbova

A. Discuss US & Russian hardware update
  • RSC-E asked NASA if the astronauts book found while working with Baikonour specialists is an additional item, as it was not packed as crew preference. NASA replied that it is indeed, and that a fax has been sent as an official request to add as US Cargo. Natalya Ortiz read the fax to RSC-E. NASA stated that they will pay for the notebook this time, although it has always gone as crew preference in the past. This is still an open issue and will be worked accordingly.
  • NASA commented that RSC-E had a lot of changes to their manifest and that NASA specialists are concerned about getting all the appropriate safety certifications. RSC-E replied that the new cosmonaut is taking up a photo camera with accessories and leaving it on board the station for the crew to use. NASA informed RSC-E that leaving it on board the station might be a problem, and all imagery items staying on station have to go through a joint working group due to problems with interference. NASA stated that their safety organization wants to make sure they receive safety certifications for all new experiments, especially the Skin experiment. RSC-E replied that NASA specialists can contact RSC-E specialists concerning experiments.

4. 12S Discussion- S. LeCour/N. Gorbova

A. Discuss US & Russian hardware update
  • In reference to Fax OC8-06-139, RSC-E asked NASA for mass and dimensions on the waste bag with the new part number. NASA replied that this is the same waste bag as before, that the dash number was changed because it is a new model (dash number was changed from -306 to -307). Sophia agreed to send an email to RSC-E with sufficient data to clarify this issue, as well as explain why the part number changed.
  • RSC-E asked NASA to send any changes to 12S as soon as possible now that the shuttle has launched, as they were previously informed there would be changes once the shuttle launched. NASA stated that two Dual Sorbant Tube Assemblies were required on 12S only if 12A did not launch. They also stated that they purchased 3 kg for return on 12S and will make up for this mass delta if the two items are removed from the 12S manifest. NASA assured RSC-E that they will push for an answer by the end of the week. RSC-E replied that they need a complete return list with mass and dimension as soon as NASA can get it.

5. 23P Discussion- S. LeCour/N. Gorbova

A. Discuss any comments or questions on the 23P Baseline Manifest, Mass Summary Table or Part 6 Report

  • No comments or questions on these documents.

B. Discuss the 6kg mass delta between RSC-E input and the Baseline Manifest

  • RSC-E cannot find the mass difference between the two documents. Nadezdah agreed to further investigate this issue.

C. How much water does RSC-E plan to delivery on 23P? The manifest has 100 liters, but NASA has heard that RSC-E may not deliver any water.

  • RSC-E will deliver 0 kiligrams of water in the Ronik tanks, but will deliver 2 EDVs filled with Disinfectant Solution, totaling 44 kilograms.

D. Does RSC-E plan to remove the BTN-NEYTRON EXPERIMENT from the 23P Manifest?

  • RSC-E does not plan to remove this item from the 23P Manifest.

E. Does RSC-E plan to add the CIRCULATION UNIT KIT (part number 10491.6721.000) to the 23P Manifest?

  • RSC-E plans to add this kit, and the necessary paperwork has been issued.

F. US consumables team noted that based on the new Progress flight schedule and the 23P manifest, the number of KTOs on-orbit may become low between 23P and 24P. Does the Russian side plan to increase the number of KTOs on the 23P manifest?

  • RSC-E stated that their specialists are still working the calculations and should know by tomorrow, September 13, 2006. RSC-E will email NASA the number.

G. Is there changes to the Russian cargo on 23P? Please send NASA the update if there is a new version.

  • RSC-E will have an updated manifest by next week.

H. Discuss any comments or questions on the 23P RSC-E Input

  • Answers to the questions in the table below are in bold blue text.

7. 12A Discussion - S. LeCour/N. Gorbova

A. Discuss any comments or questions on the 12A L-2 Weeks Manifest
B. Are there any changes expected to the Russian hardware request for return?
  • RSC-E sent NASA a fax today for the 12A return update. The new handle total is 7, not 6. The extra handle was accidentally packed, so this is just an update to the manifest. RSC-E then asked if they are supposed to report serial numbers as they are packed. NASA replied that serial numbers are reconciled on the ground and everything is recorded then.
