AQUA Spacecraft Enters Safe Mode

The Aqua MODIS instrument was transitioned to Science Mode at 14:52 GMT on August 6th, 2002 (2002/218)

Flight Software patches being uploaded today to correct for anomaly last week. Science instruments will be restarted beginning tomorrow.

At 20:23 GMT on 2002/210 (Monday, July 29, 2002) the Aqua entered Earth Pointing Safe Mode and signaled the EOC via it's "911 Alarm". Initial telemetry analysis points towards the GNC Fault Management "LOS of NADIR" Trigger is what initiated the transition. S/C is in Earth pointing mode and all instruments are in "safe" mode
